Former  Swiss Re executive Patrick Raaflaub (YL ’00) has taken on new challenges as CEO of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, a government agency charged with the weighty duty of managing the impact on Switzerland of the world financial crisis. According to its charter, “FINMA's task is to protect the clients of financial markets, namely creditors, investors and insured persons, in accordance with the requirements of financial market legislation, thereby strengthening confidence in the smooth functioning, competitiveness and integrity of Switzerland's financial centre.”
