In 2010, the Young Leaders Conference, sponsored by Novartis and Swiss International Air Lines, was held for the second time in Basel. The conference was first held in Switzerland’s third-most-populous city in 1998 and would be held again along the Rhine River in 2016.

The class of 2010 included American Swiss Foundation Board member Anthony Svanascini, CEO of Americaneagle.com; The Honorable Joaquin Castro, United States Representative for Texas’s 20th congressional district since 2013; The Honorable Dana Redd, CEO of the Rowan-Rutgers–Camden Board of Governors, and former mayor of Camden, NJ (2010–2018); Kevin Conroy, chairman and CEO of Exact Sciences; Arthur Honegger, anchor of Switzerland’s leading TV news magazine “10vor10” on Swiss Public TV (SRF); Ravi Belani, managing partner at Alchemist Accelerator; Camille Vial, managing partner and chairman of the executive committee of Mirabaud; Dr. Dagmar Maria Kamber Borens, prospective CEO of KBL European Private Bankers (KBL epb); Meret Baumann, member of the foreign editorial office  at the renowned Neue Zürcher Zeitung; Raymond Welder, president and CEO of Welder Exploration & Production, Inc., an oil and natural gas production company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas; and Pascal Kalbermatten, CFO for Franke Kitchen Systems in North America.

The class of 2010 also included Tara Dowdell, founder and president of the Tara Dowdell Group and frequent commentator on MSNBC, Fox News, and Fox Business; Nathan George, entrepreneur and co-founder and chairman of Thomas & Darden; Dr. Michelle Hanlon, Howard W. Johnson Professor and a professor of accounting at the MIT Sloan School of Management; Thierry Cagianut, partner at Baldi & Caratsch; Dr. Eric Patterson, executive vice president at the Religious Freedom Institute; Bill McQuillen, executive vice president and Washington media lead at Burson Cohn & Wolfe; Mathias Bopp, partner at KPMG; Ranjit de Sousa, president of Lee Hecht Harrison; Nicolas Roduit, chief of staff and deputy brigade commander for the Logistics Brigade of the Swiss Armed Forces; and Jason Mattera, writer, radio host, and Emmy-nominated journalist.
