In 2008, the Young Leaders Conference, sponsored by Rolex and Swiss International Air Lines, was held for a second time in Geneva. The class of 1996 was also hosted on the shores of beautiful Lake Geneva.

The class of 2008 included American Swiss Foundation Board member Joe Hurd, entrepreneur and senior vice president at Tech Stars. Joe has been instrumental in growing ASF’s San Francisco alumni chapter, as well as in the design of our inaugural “Tech Tour.” It also included Swiss Advisory Council ExCo member Dr. Manuel Rybach, global head of public affairs for Credit Suisse and managing director for the Credit Suisse Foundation
The class of 2008 also included Chris Hayes, host of All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC; The Honorable Pascale Bruderer Wyss, member of the Swiss Federal Parliament since 2002; Dr. Christoph Schaltegger, professor of political economy at the University of Lucerne; Roman Stein, CFO at Swiss Life; Stéphane Bonamy, head of Regional Affairs for the Middle East with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Amman, Jordan; The Honorable Laura Brod Hameed, entrepreneur and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives; Thomas Schnyder, head of finance for Nestlé Global Business Services; Claudia Aebersold Szalay, head of Media Relations at the Swiss National Bank; Matthew Yglesias, co-founder of Vox.com and senior correspondent focused on politics and economic policy; David S.
