In 2005, the Young Leaders Conference, sponsored by UBS and Swiss International Air Lines, was hosted for a third time in Wolfsberg, Ermatingen, at the UBS Training Center. The conference was hosted in the same location in 1990 and 1993.

The class of 2005 included Gabriela Lippe-Holst, president emerita of the Young Leaders Alumni Foundation; Dr. Thomas Carty, author of Backwards in High Heels, the biography of Ambassador Faith Whittlesey (1939 – 2018); Marc Pictet, partner at Pictet & Cie Group; Dr. Steven Frick, professor and vice chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at Stanford University;  Diana Marrero, vice president of strategic development at Foreign Policy; Dr. Robert Flatt, professor for building materials at ETH Zurich; Judith Wittwer Herter, head of news at Tages-Anzeiger; former Florida House Majority Leader Adam Hasner, and Jamie Dailey, bluegrass musician and Grand Ole Opry star.

The class also included Christian Frutiger, global head of public affairs for Nestlé; Werner Halter, CEO of Climate Services; Robert Goodwin, Co-Founder and President of OceanCycle; Michael Sullivan, president and CEO of Empower Texans; Emmy winner Mario Armstrong, host of Wake Up and Level Up podcast; Kurt Haerri, head of new installation business for Schindler China; Craig Gilbert, Washington Bureau Chief for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; and Siobhan Gorman, a cybersecurity specialist at the Brunswick Group.
