Class of 1993


The fourth Young Leaders Conference was held (for a second time) at the UBS training center in Wolfsberg, Ermatingen with the main sponsors being the Union Bank of Switzerland and Swissair. 

The class of 1993 included Swiss banking scion Raymond J. BärMichael Barone, senior political analyst for the Washington ExaminerJohn FundNational Review’s national-affairs reporter; The Right Reverend Jeffrey N. Leath, the 128th bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church; Christian A. Lüscher, Swiss attorney and member of parliament of the Free Democratic Party; Grover Norquist, founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform; Benjamin W. Patton, founder of the Patton Veterans Project and the youngest grandson of WWII’s General George S. Patton, Jr.; Dr. Charles E. Schlumberger, lead air transport specialist at the World Bank; former Swiss Ambassador Jean-Philippe Tissières; and Birgit Voigt, journalist with the NZZ am Sonntag, one of Switzerland’s leading newspapers.
