Mike Lake Kicks Off Campaign for Lt. Governor of MA

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the American Swiss Foundation, Chairman Steven Hoch, President Patricia Schramm and Vice President Stewart Wicht rang the Opening Bell of the NYSE! Also present was Ambassador Andre Schaller, Consul General of Switzerland in New York.

Government Responses, Diplomacy, and Trade

For U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland Edward McMullen (YL 1995), the most compelling aspect of government responses to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) “is how well democracies are able to respond to crises.” Democracies share information, they are transparent, and they include an entrepreneurial aspect and a humanitarian focus, he explains during the first ASF CONNECT conference call in April 2020.

Mike Lake, a Young Leaders alumnus and candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts in the 2014 election, will be holding his campaign kickoff event on December 11th from 6:00 PM to 8:30PM at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (41 Berkeley St., Boston MA), with former Presidential nominee, Governor Michael Dukakis and his wife, Kitty Dukakis.

Lake was appointed by President Clinton as Special Assistant for White House Operations and is the President and CEO of Leading Cities, an international organization that focuses on exchanging solutions to municipal challenges and creating jobs through business development. Lake’s vision for the Lt. Governor’s office involves working to realize what he calls the Massachusetts Promise, “a promise of opportunity that comes with High-Quality Education, Job Creation, and Strong Communities.” More information about Lake's campaign and the kickoff event can be found at http://www.ElectMikeLake.com.
