Dinner hosted in New York City to Celebrate Success of Solar Impulse

The Swiss Consulate General of New York City hosted a dinner on July 10, 2013 to celebrate the successful transcontinental flight of the first-ever airplane powered only by solar energy. The project was conceived and directed by Bertrand Piccard and André Borscheberg in association with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). The Solar Impulse plane, HB-SIA, took off from Moffet Field Airport in San Francisco on March 3rd and made its final stop at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City on July 6th; the aircraft made stops in Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, St. Louis, MO, and Washington, DC along the way.
